US Supreme Court lets Idaho enforce ban on transgender care for minors

The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed Idaho’s law banning gender-affirming care for transgender minors to take effect, except for the plaintiffs challenging it. The law, termed the Vulnerable Child Protection Act, prohibits certain medical treatments for gender dysphoria. Judge Lynn Winmill had blocked the law, citing violations of constitutional rights and discrimination against transgender minors. However, the Supreme Court’s decision permits enforcement of the ban, pending further legal proceedings.
