Raising a daughter with Down syndrome is both a profound joy and an immense challenge. Daily life requires constant vigilance—managing therapy appointments, addressing health concerns, and ensuring her inclusion in school and social settings. Each milestone, from learning to walk to communicating her needs, takes extra effort, patience, and resources. While progress can be slow, the triumphs are deeply rewarding, reminding me of her incredible strength and potential.
However, the emotional toll is real. It’s exhausting to navigate a world that often lacks understanding or accommodations for her unique needs. I wrestle with worry about her future and whether she’ll be accepted for who she is. But through all the challenges, my love for her grows. She teaches me daily about resilience, unconditional love, and finding joy in the little things.
